Privacy policy

What this covers
This policy explains what Appliance Service Network LLC (“Local-IX”) collects when you call a Local-IX phone number, visit this website, or use the advertiser dashboard, and what we do with it.
If you call a Local-IX number
| We collect | Why |
|---|---|
| Your phone number (caller ID) | To connect the call, show the repair business who called, and detect abuse. |
| The ZIP code you enter | To choose a repair business that serves your area. |
| A recording of the call | Quality assurance and resolving billing disputes between us and the repair business. |
| Call metadata (time, duration, outcome) | Billing the repair business and improving routing. |
We share your phone number, ZIP code and the recording with the one repair business we connected you to, so it can respond to your request. We do not sell caller information and we do not share it with other businesses.
Your phone number is stored encrypted. Recordings are stored encrypted in the United States and deleted after 12 months unless needed for an open dispute.
If you are an advertiser
We collect the account details you give us (business name, contact name, email, phone, website), your service ZIP codes, business hours and pricing, your call and transaction history, and technical data such as IP address and browser for security. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we keep only a reference to the saved card and its last four digits.
We use this data to run your account, route and bill calls, send account emails (receipts, low-balance and card notices), and prevent fraud. Emails are sent through our email provider; payments are processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
Website visitors
This website uses no advertising trackers. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser) for security and performance, retained for a limited period.
Who we share data with
- The repair business you are connected to (callers only), as described above.
- Service providers that run parts of our platform on our instructions: telephony (Twilio), payments (Stripe), cloud storage (Amazon Web Services), email delivery and hosting.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to what we must keep for billing and legal reasons. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have these rights under those laws, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
Do not sell or share my personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Sharing a caller’s details with the single business they asked to be connected to is part of the service the caller requested. If you nevertheless want to record an opt-out, or to make any other request, email support@local-ix.com with the phone number or account email concerned. We respond within 45 days.
To ask that we stop routing calls from your phone number entirely, email the same address; we keep a hashed copy of the number on our do-not-route list so future calls are declined.
Children
Local-IX is for adults arranging home services. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
